What about it thought? Unless I'm missing something or just too blind to see what you're talking about. I followed every step but the only tabs I can click on after opening a continue.sav are Dump/General/SectorMap/State Vars. I the tabs Player Ship/NearbyShip/ChangeShip are grayed out being unclickable.

Well it is in big, bold, underlined, red letters near the top of the post. So...

Vhati hasn't completely deciphered everything, so you can't edit the ship directly. You can only edit your inventory and the sector map, along with your profile.

Whenever I use the FTL Editor to unlock all ships, its as if it never happened and no change occurs. What do I do?

  • Exit FTL. The game must NOT be running.
  • Open your profile ("ae_prof.sav").
  • Unlock some ships.

v23 has been released:
  • In 1.5.4+ saved games, ships can be edited!!! (partially, systems/drones/weapons excluded)
  • Fixed an FTL crash caused by newly-created stores not starting with a shelf.
  • Fixed first-run notice, to say saved games are partially editable.
  • Fixed inaccurate skill mastery interval hints in saved game dumps.
  • Fixed State Var "higho2" tooltip: FTL 1.5.4 incremented on arrival/loading.
  • Fixed Lanius ship achievements leaking into old "prof.sav" files.
  • Added lossy "ae_prof.sav" editing when using resources from FTL 1.01-1.03.3.
  • Added a warning when attempting to save the blank default profile.

Victory/Quest achievements are not yet editable. It's still on the todo list, jamberine and Zen. ;)
In the meantime, I mentioned workarounds in an earlier post.

Many more unknown fields are editable, including on crew and doors. Many have been given english names, thanks to hints from Matthew (question marks remain beside ones I'm uncertain about). Nearby ship AI and Environment Hazards have been added to the general tab.

Before I can get to weapon/drone editing, I'll need to get systems working again, so power can be allocated. I'm considering recreating the game's HUD to make sense of all the bars. :|

I'm having an issue with the editor.

The Editor itself is working fine, but when I open my profile ("ae_prof.sav") I get the following message:

"Your profile loaded, but re-saving will not create an identical file.
You CAN technically proceed anyway, but there is risk of corruption.

FYI: I haven't turned on Advanced Edition yet, and version 22 of the editor doesn't give this error. I can load my save game just fine (which I'm not trying to edit), this only happens for my profile. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Should I use version 22 to make the minor modification to my stats that I want, or is it alright to use version 23? Maybe I should just wait for v24.

My only complaint (though, its really just nitpicking) is that the crew edit (zone? window? section?) doesn't scroll fast enough

Ah. The mouse wheel. Easily addressed.

In the code, I refer to that region as the side panel (or showCrewEditor(), showRoomEditor(), etc.).

For ages, I couldn't remember the official term for that sort of thing.
It just came back to me now: "property sheet".
