I got a problem with CE Infinite 1.002. It keeps taking me to the Crystal sector. I didn't have this problem with 1.0, so if it is possible to fix this, it would be grand. Because I love Infinite Space, and Infinite Space with Captain's Edition is fantastic. The infinite Crystal sectors is what turned me off the newest version of Infinite Space.

This is likely load order related. You have to load Infinite after CE...

This will also happen if you load any mods that modify the classic crystal sector after infinite. Loading Infinite last is most likely to work best.

Why is it necessary to keep nerfing the Carnelian into the ground? In vanilla it came with a cloaking device, had an augment you could sell for 40 scrap, had a weapons system installed (but with no weapon), had more starting power bars. Then you removed the cloaking system, made the crystal vengeance sale price negligible, and added a little light crystal gun. Then you removed the light crystal gun. Then you removed the entire weapons system and the power bar that came with it.

Granted that it certainly deserved some nerfs in vanilla, but now it is hardly playable. You need a ridiculous amount of luck to even get started with this ship. Even start scumming to get a weapon doesn't help anymore since you may not find a store early; if you do it may not carry a weapons system; if it does you may not be able to afford it; if you can you may not be able to power it; if you can you still may not find a weapon that can do anything. If you really feel that the 4 pad transporter is so unbalancing that the ship should not be playable, then can't we simply redesign the ship with a 2-pad transporter?

It has the means to disable enemy weapon systems quite quickly, and the vengeance now is now useful if you engineer and stack it. Plus, you can now go through multiple Crystal sectors to from Rock Controlled Sectors as long as you have a Crystallite.

CE does make no changes to player ship systems, it merely give them other downloads, adjusting the weapon system if necessary. Beside that, no systems in any player ships where changed where changed. CE only gives the Carnelian the Light Crystal Burst. This is likely caused by some other mod you might have installed, has nothing to do with CE. :|

The only mods I have installed are CE, CEi, and the Polish kit (with CE/CEi patches). Oh and of course the CE music, the backgrounds patch, and some of the people. But basically it's all part of the CE package and in the last few patches my Carnelian lost its weapons system.

It never had the cloaking system in CE (at least not since I discovered CE about a month ago) and always had it in vanilla. I assumed it was removed intentionally, the Carnelian was extremely powerful in vanilla and removing the cloaking system in exchange for a light antipersonnel/breach cannon seemed a reasonable nerf.

To Mister's point, if you compare the Bravais to the Carnelian, the Bravais actually is just as good at disabling the enemy weapons systems quickly (shield piercing crystal weapons are roughly as fast to charge as it takes your boarders to knock out the system with no interference). It also has all the crystal sector access. I'm not saying that there aren't some issues with Crystal crew that are near impossible to balance, but the power difference between the Bravais and the Carnelian at this point is truly absurd.

I'm also not sure how to engineer the vengeance system. I've never seen a blue option for it in CE despite running with the Carnelian most of the time, although we were told several patches ago that it was implemented. And, again, the only mods I use are the ones mentioned in the front page of this thread.

Well then its probably the polish kit. You have to discuss that with slowriderxchorps in his thread then.

True, that is indeed related to main CE. Will be fixed next version, thanks for pointing that out. ;)
