"Hi guys!" Jake said as he slowly crawled out from under Lux.

"My sensors detected a battle over here. Normally they're not that good, but the energy signatures stood out because there is next to nothing here. Anyways, how are ya'll doing? Is everyone allright?"

THUMP THUMP THUMP. The door opened, and a blue, shiny rockman stepped into the room. "Backup intruder!" Jake shouted, pointing his gun at the creature. "We're deciding what to do with you intruders now. Against the wall!"

"Jake its ok, he is friendly, this is Ruwen...a Crystal man" he said

"If this is your friend I think he is a little too jumpy" Ruwen said calmly

"This is the new Crew member I was telling you about Jake" Bren explained, "Long story short, he is ancient, we found him in some sort of cryo pod, kept him alive during a time when his people and some other race, he calls the metal eaters had their own empires. I checked the historical data on here, and it doesn't even had data going back that far" he said

"So he is beyond a lot of history, if anything only race I could see having that data is the rockmen and they aren't really the type to keep historical data most of the time. They always did prefer to live in the present."

Jake lowered the gun, a little taken aback. He had never seen such a creature before! "Sorry... Ruwen. Since this ship was crawling with intruders, I assumed you were one of them. I'm the captain of this crew, it's very nice that you have signed on to this mission. I assume you've been briefed on our mission details." Ruwen nodded.

"Anyways, I'm sure we have alot of catching up to do - me with the new ship and you guys with Mr. Ruwen here. However, we still have two intruders on board. They sound like bumbling idiots if you'd ask me - so I won't do what I did to that guy." Jake gestured to the exploded head gore smeared on the walls. We're not killers, that's not who we've become. We'll drop 'em off at the pirate station when we get there. I think it's only 1 jump away, we can disarm and lock them in the aft airlock 'till we get there."

"Well...we could see if they have a bounty on em. Might earn some extra scrap. We have plenty so we should be able to upgrade the Robin's systems. Gotta say I can see why you love being up here in the cockpit...nicer chairs, right up there in the action in fights...mind if I take this ship since you got the fancy one?" he asked in a slightly jokey way

Ruwen went back to the life support room to relax in, he needed to meditate and relax now after this encounter

Lux said "Bren, I thought you would be concerned that we have two Slugs as prisoners on our ship and you'd want to watch them personally for any funny business"
She started to laugh again "Don't you worry that they could try and manipulate one of us to releasing them and have them take over the ship?"
Her laughter was much louder now "Sorry... couldn't say that with a straight face... but still those Slugs are a concern. They could give us the slip. Both literally and with their mucus trails"
It'll probably take weeks to clean it off the deck, she thought to herself.

"If ya ask me, I'd rather airlock them right now. But...."

He took a deep breath, "I need to work on flying this thing so I don't have the time" he said not looking at Lux, clearly he wanted them dead for being slavers, but didn't want ot admit to wanting to show them mercy. He just wanted to keep the facade up...

"Bren, order everyone for a meeting in the medbay. I'll go deal with these slugs." Jake started out of the room, and noticed Lux and Bren were nervously staring at him. "Don't worry, I won't shoot 'em." He said, rolling his eyes. He took the gun, anyways. He went down to the engine room, and ordered the slugs to move it. They grumbled and griped, but Jake poked and prodded them with his gun and they slithered into the airlock. He shut down the internal airlock controls, and use the external ones to close the door. He disabled the external controls, and only HIS access code could open the doors.

"Even if you manipulate someone into opening this door," He said into the airlock "They won't be able to, because only my code can unlock it. And don't think about manipulating me, I'll be far away from here."

Jake could feel the two slugs poking around in his head as the airlock control pad went from green to yellow, symbolizing that it was disabled. Jake resisted harder and harder to their mind tricks, and eventually he broke out into an all-out sprint away from the airlock, to get out-of-range of the slugs' abilities. He would not let them take him. Once the slugs' presence faded, Jake met the others in the medbay. "I took care of the slugs. They're locked in the aft airlock, and only my Authorization Code can unlock it. And I'll be out of their range, on the other ship. So yeah, it's under control. Now, first I'll tell you all about our new ship..."

Jake explained everything he had learned. EVERYTHING. In return, the others explained the addition of Ruwen, who more formally introduced himself. Jake was fascinated by Ruwen and his story. He also had some stuff to say about the Metal Eaters, but he was unsure of the whereabouts of them currently.

Once they were finished catching up, Jake asked for who would stay in the Robin and who would be the crew of the new ship. Jake determined that he would be Captain of the fleet, as well as pilot of the Mature. Bren volunteered to pilot the Robin, which Jake was enthusiastic about. As for the others, it was time to discuss...

"I'll take captain of the Robin if thats ok, its what we wanted to take originally and I'd feel bad selling this off to somone who I'm sure isn't gonna take care of this" Bren said

"I'll be alright with being here" Ruwen said calmly

Jake was surprised that Ruwen would stay on the Robin, but it made sense. Ancient creature, old ship. An ancient creature may not want to be on a ship that is even more unfamiliar than the unfamiliar world around them.

"Ruwen, what's your position? What station will you man? Engines? Shields?"

"Ruwen, what's your position? What station will you man? Engines? Shields?"

"I was the defender of our ship, I was trained in combat to protect the scout ship, sadly the others didn't make it. I did however have skills in shielding, so given enough time I should be able to understand how to use your shield technology" he said in his usual calm tone

"Don't worry you will have plenty of time to learn how to use our shields" Bren said via com as he fired on nearby asteroids to keep them from banging on both of their ships

Lux said she would volunteer to examine this... "future ship" to see if it was really from the future. It could have easily have been ancient like Ruwen's ship or derived from ancient tech. "Although I do believe I might be needed on the Robin to deal with any injuries. If what you're saying is true, Jake, a doctor like me wouldn't be of any use in the medbay of that thing..."
Plus I'd probably get in the way of his new girlfriend... she thought to herself before chuckling, If it were Dad flying that, he probably would ask if his ship's avatar could look like Mum... especially in these times.

She looked to the others "So I think I'll stay on the Robin and stop Bren from getting into any more trouble. I don't think he can lead and fly the ship at the same time."
