Ok that sounds like an awesome eventstylesrj wrote:"Let's just say that Dad was not amused" Lux said cheerily "He had to stay in the cargo bay to make sure I didn't wander off. I wanted to see what the dangerous ship had to offer after all."
She tapped a few of the stabiliser controls and checked the life support readings to make sure it was 30 minutes and not 03 minutes.
"We barely made it out of there. The disease had turned the entire crew into crazy cannibals if it didn't outright kill them" she continued "It was after spending the following weeks in quarantine while Mum came up with a cure that I decided I should become a doctor like her."
But what happened to the Pelican? Did it get a radiation bath and repurposed? Is it still out there in space, waiting for more hapless people to dock with it or did the cannibals take control and now it's a pirate ship, hungry for new prey? Who knows? it might be an event in the future...

"I never knew that's why you wanted to be a doctor. I thought it was just because your mom was. Kyrie knew that was a touchy subject, so she moved on. "My brothers always told me stories of their missions. They only got leave once a year, so there were new stories every time. I always dreamed about finding ships like this one and exploring new planets. They never told me about the pirates and other dangers till I was older, though." This reminded her of the station they were headed to next. After a pause she continued: "What do you think the pirate station'll be like? I've never been to one."

"I was six years old" Lux said "Quarantine was boring. In my mind, if I was a doctor, I would be able to cure everything... my mother certainly could"
She gave out a sigh, her smile broke for just a second as she reminded herself about her mother.. "Then of course, once you actually start training, you wish you could go back and tell your six-year-old self that they were being silly."
The shuttle started to dock with the ancient Rock ship. Or at least it tried to. Lux began cutting at the doors with her multitool; standard breaching procedure for salvagers. Or so she was told. "If I had to hazard a guess, the pirate station will be full of pirates. Probably a few Slugs because they always seem to be the bad guys in Captain Awesome, next to the Mantis. Sometimes they even worked together."
She gave it some thought "So... I wouldn't know Kyrie. The ships I grew up on tended to stick to more savoury routes and outposts."

The multitool worked like a charm. The doorway was open, however according to their senors, the atomsphere had air but it was the equivelent of being on the top of a mountain, very thin.stylesrj wrote:"I was six years old" Lux said "Quarantine was boring. Re: [FTL RP, GAME BEGUN] The Rogue Cadets
400 years in the future is about 340 years after normal FTL. So 340 years after the Rebel war. Please note: This is a long post, but it's important! It explains the details and features of our new ship
The federation woman walked up to the sleek vessel from the distant future.
I wonder what It's like 400 years in the future... Jake thought with wonder. Then his thoughts took a darker tone Probably not a very happy place if we don't succeed in the present mission. Jake thought about how this mission would have repercussions in the distant future. If he failed, the course of history would be forever altered.
The federation woman got the door opened. The battered and broken airlock pushed outward and slid to the side, with a grinding noise.
"Our scientists have determined that much of this damage is from intense ionic fields. The effects of supposed time travel. The other significant portion of this damage is from heavy weapons fire from numerous unknown and highly advanced weapons. But, the damage is only external. The interior is in pristine condition. Now please, Jake. Allow me to give you a tour of your new vessel." The woman said, kindly. Jake followed the woman inside. "Where's the airlock?" Jake expected to see a secondary airlock door. There are no doors on this ship. Rather, impenetrable force fields. Thus, any boarding parties will be trapped if they transport aboard. Unless the doors go offline - the intruders will have free roam."
"I don't see any shimmering force fields," Jake said
"You have been enrolled by the ships AI. All organic organisms have a unique electrical field. Somehow, this ship can identify you by your electric field - and modulate the force fields accordingly. So, any and all verified crew members can walk straight through the force fields without feeling a thing - where as enemies will be blocked."
"Cool." Jake said, as they began walking through the halls of the ship. It was very brightly lit, light shone from the metal floors and along a glowing stripe on the ceiling. First, they headed to the shields room.
"This is the shields room. Your ship is equipped with what our engineers have nicknamed 'Purple Shields,' as opposed to Zoltan 'Green Shields.' Using some peculiar combination of Slug telepathic ability and Zoltan shielding, this system uses telekinesis to redirect shots away from the ship. However, the technology behaves as Zoltan green shields do - they do not recharge during battle, once depleted."
The shields room featured a glowing blue orb in the center - similar to the core in a normal Shields rooms. However, this core was not a mounted sphere of glass-like substance. This was a glowing blue orb - FLOATING in the middle of the room. Surrounding it there was a single curved screen - displaying complex algorithms and mathematical formulas. This futuristic console curved around the entire room. Not only was it a curved screen, but it was a semi-transparent HOLOGRAPHIC display. This prevented the screen from blocking the doors, as you could walk right through it! The whole display pulsated slightly with a blue light. Jake couldn't make heads or tails of the data displayed there. Hopefully someone could.
Next was the weapons room. The woman explained that weapons technology had remained mostly the same, only more firepower. The weapons room featured nothing in the middle, save for a circular light embedded in the floor. It featured a similar all-encompassing holographic display, which pulsated with a red light.
Jake was then shown drone control. Apparently, defensive drones had become incredibly advanced. They could move faster, and most importantly, process data faster. This meant that defense drones could target and shoot down incoming missiles with incredible speed and accuracy. Offensive drone technology was similar in hardware - but much different in software. Drones were now more strategic, and could understand the Captains strategies based on a one-way telepathic interface. So, if the captain really wanted to take out the enemies shields - the drone system could take that mental command and coordinate all offensive drones to target enemy shields. The woman explained that Drone Control was the ships only "Advanced System" but other systems, such as Teleporters, Mind Control, Hacking, and Cloaking could be installed later on.
Next Jake was shown the sensors room, with a different layout from the rest of the ship. One entire wall was a big screen (non-holographic) in super high-definition. In the middle, there was a control panel and a chair. The woman explained that these advanced sensors could point out weaknesses in enemy ships. If you target those faults with a special weapon called the "Fault Beam," you could slice and dice entire ships. The fault beam was not controlled from Weapons control, but rather controlled from sensors, since it was only useful with these special sensors. The Fault Beam did no damage to systems, crew, or hull, but when a fault was targeted in just the right spot... entire ships could break apart.
Finally Jake was shown his favorite station: piloting. It featured an awesome command chair, as well as two non-holographic screens above and below the main window. The main window was very sleek - on an awesome looking sharp upwards slant. The window had its own holographic projector embedded inside of it - so the WINDOW ITSELF could display data and readouts as an anti-smear touch display!!!
The Federation woman explained that while the Ship was controlled by the crew, (and in the case of Drone Control, pure thought) the ship also had a fully independent AI. This was not like the AI on automated Rebel ships. This AI had emotions, thoughts, ideas, and free will. The AI was stored inside the ships computer. Its purpose was to assist the captain in a more direct way. With this AI, Jake could directly communicate and CONVERSE WITH the ship! Not only was the AI in the ship, but the AI WAS the ship. The ship had a mind of its own, thoughts, emotions, and free will. Unfortunately, according to Federation scientists, the AI was damaged by intense ionic fields, (Time travel???) and they didn't have time to repair it before the mission was due to begin. A researcher came up to Jake and gave him a manual on how to finish repairs on the AI, and it didn't look to complicated. If he had any free time, Jake intended to try to restore. According to ships logs, the AI was supposedly very kind and eager to help, if they could just get it working.
With that, the pretty Fed woman said fairwell. Jake booted up the ship, went to the helm, and prepared for takeoff procedure.

WOL was regulating the engine, making sure that it ran at full capacity. So far, everything was good. The asteroids kept their distance from the ship, occasionally, one would get close, but it would always just brush past. All the while, WOL was staring at the sensor monitor next to the control pad. As of now, it seems that Lux and Kyrie are exploring the ship with no problems at all.
WOL returned his focus to the control panel, "they're doing just fine, there's no need to worry" he thought in his head. WOL had encountered a fair share of direlict ships, so it would be no surprise if this one ended up being abandoned. But there is always the chance that it isn't.

Guess we kinda are them right now. " he said, then he paused, "Hey, hold on I think the translator figured out what the message was, hold on let me check on it..." he said typing a few keys
"ok it has a few words, Help, Scout, War, and...alone..." he said frowning a bit
he looked to the camera to view the ship
"...could this have been a rock scout, like a lone scout that tried to hide from the rebels?" he asked outloud
"Should also point out that the translator is saying its some sort of Rockmen dialect, but it can't pin point it, so its either one the ship wasn't programmed with or this really is an ancient ship" he said

Lux swept the first hallway with her blaster pistol as she looked around the ship. "Kyrie, at the first intersection, we should split up and cover more ground. Keep your coms on and let me know if you find anyone" she explained, sweeping the hallway with her medical scanner, the red beams of light refracting off the crystalline walls "Whoever sent out the signal might already be dead, but I am picking up... some sort of lifesign onboard. It's hard to tell with all these crystals."
