What's the "Downloading server data" thing? and why does it have to be done everytime I join the server?

(BTW on the server I am RaumKuchen, I use the same username on the IRC).

Because every server can have his own settings and can use different weapons/ships/projectiles models.

Spektor, could you add a HUGE message to first post which says "Read the starter guide on wiki before playing for first time"?
