It took some time, but today was the day. The update is there and the game looks even more gorgeous than ever without the damn black borders.
Just wanted to say thank you for this Subset Games! Now all we need is Into the Breach on iOS

The circle is now complete. I re-found this thread today, surprised I started it, and now have learned the Feb 23 update was already auto-installed on my iPad Pro. This comes at a great time for me in my FTL journey, as I setup my current iPad Pro 11” from scratch (not from an FTL-game containing backup) following an unfortunate incident involving coffee faced by its dearly departed predecessor. I also randomly again pinged Subset Games on twitter Feb 15 just a week before the update finally dropped asking again about when an update might drop!
