Just brought game, launches as blank whitescreen

Title. Literally just brought it, and the game launches as a windowed boxed with only white space inside. Though I can still hear the menu music, and when I mouse over where I assume the menu options are, I can here the little sound effects they make. How can I fix this?

Things I've already tried:
setting 'fullscreen' to = 1 instead of 0 in the settings (I could see the game, but half the menu options were off screen, and the mouse started spazing out)
Updating my GeoForce driver. Changed nothing.
