Epic stories

Win or lose, FTW creates stories of the valient crew's attempts to save the day...

Here are two of mine:

OM NOM NOM NOM

The Mantis, first time out and lving it. The crew were happily slaughtering all teh crew they came across and slowly laser'd and bombed the auto-ships. They were really happy on when they helped retrieve a ship for some guys who wanted it intact. More so when they got given a Heal-Bomb as a reward! A little later they also managed to get an Engi Heal mod and Pre-Ignition mod, could nothing stop them?

And then here it was, the final fight with the main Rebel mothership. Everything was going well, two Mantis ported over to take out the missiles. Two more ported over to take out the Ion Gun. Soon 3 guns were out and the boarding assault on the main section begun. And then suddenly disaster struck, they ran out of bombs to shut down the med bay! With the cloaking as well, 2 mantis died before they could be pulled back and the last 2 boarding Mantis couldn't make a dent in the crew. The blaster laser III wasn't able to make any permanent damage either.

It was a sad day that day, they hung their heads in shame as they failed to defeat even the first stage of the mothership.

HE'S ON FIRE!

The Engi were pleased with their ship. 2 Ion Blast II, Burst Laser and a couple of Anti-Ship drones, coupled with pre-ignition meant they were fairly confident against most enemy. And their confidence was proven as they cut up the mothership. They thought it was two easy, alas it was as they blew the ship up before the away crew beamed back.

But small set-backs did not scare the Engi, as they fired up their engines and chased the Rebel Mothership. Again the initial barrage crippled most of the ship before the fight started, but without a cloaking device the drones caused some minor damage, more than they would have liked. It was a bit more drown out, but once again they watched the Mothership run away to lick it's wounds. Repairs were done, systems fired up once more and the final show-down begun.

A little tripidation started as the enemy started to board. Without the proper combatant cre, dealing with the invaders was harder than it should have been. More so when fires started. Systems were going down faster than they could be repaired. The enemy ship was still getting messed up, but so was the Engi's, as the crew had to fight fire and rebel. The drone control centre was lost as fire rampaged across half the ship. The only gun still working was the laser, but no one was paying attention to it as they killed off the laster of the Rebels and sirens went off warning of imminent hull lose.

And then it happened, the Mothership blew up for the last time. The crew turned to watch out the window as it broke apart and scattered across space, while the fires roared behind them. The doors had been opened to vent the air, but the O2 unit was within the area. Even if the fires stopped spreading, they had little chance of repairing the O2 levels before they all suffocated due to the injuries already sustained from the Rebels. They shoke each others hands on a successful mission and waited for the inevitable.
