So I was running Rockman B, I picked up a Glaive at the beginning (had fun pwning those n00b ships), and I was hoping for a Vulcan to go along with it. Lo-and-behold, I got it in sector 7.
I happied. I happied so loud I forgot how to English. I lost against the Rebel flagship at the end, but heck, it was fun. I even got Rock C, to top it off. (Sorry, no pics since I can't upload it.)

Unless the enemy ship has a Defense Drone Mk.II
That beast can stop a Vulcan quite easily and also stop your Hacking Drone with the back of it's turret at the same time.
