Captain’s Log 14/26/64
We just arrived in an abandoned sector, full of sensor deprivations known as nebula clouds. It stinks, even though the walls of our ship. All of this, just to evade the rebels. I suppose you can find some interesting things in the nebula, so we’ll make the best of it.
Captain’s Log 14/27/64
We traveled at FTL speed and reached a new beacon. We found a colossal ship with a zoltan symbol on it. None of our crew was too keen on exploring the abandoned battlefield of a ship. Our rockman crew member, Layla, insisted we search it, in a rather enchanted voice. We are going to search after a good night’s rest. The sound of ion storms in the nebula can make you restless.
Captain’s Log 14/28/64
Me, our weapons major Nelis and Layla are going to search the ship today. This may take a while; the ship looks bigger than Noah’s Arc. On the ship it was mostly quiet, till we reached a room with a man in terrible condition. He lay next to many fallen federation and rebel soldiers alike, scribbling a message onto a piece of paper. We rushed over to him, making his last moments of life comfortable. He muttered a series of coordinates, begging us to go there as soon as possible. He told us to tell his family of the bad news, before his untimely demise. I stepped over to the ash covered piece of paper, only to see the word “ABADOTH”. Nelis didn’t like this. “We should ditch the guy, and go to the federation base. That’s the whole reason we’re in this sector, to evade the rebels right?!” Nelis said with a frightened voice. Layla however, insisted we investigate the “ABADOTH” situation. With Layla being the more trustworthy crewmember, I decided to go to these coordinates.
Captain’s Log 14/29/64
We went to these coordinates and found nothing, nothing mind you, of significance. There was no planet, sun, ion sun, ship, station, not even one measly asteroid. We prepared our FTL drive for a jump, but received a message saying “I advise you stay here a bit longer. We know why you’ve come.” Everybody in the ship is spooked, including me. Layla insists on staying. I swear something has gotten to her.
Captain’s Log 14/30/64
I was convinced that this was some sort of trap, and doubled the power in the engines for the FTL drive. Suddenly, a Zoltan Crusader Ship de-cloaked itself, and asked firmly why we came to this secret rendezvous. I tried to explain that none of us fully understood or remembered our purpose. Layla stepped up to the communications microphone and said, ABADOTH. There was a long silence between both our ship and the Zoltan’s. I asked for an explanation, the Zoltan Captain said that he had no time at the moment, but would try to contact me at another time. He left the video transmission in a sullen state it seems.
Captain’s Log 15/01/64
Layla has been acting different since we saw that word, ABADOTH… what could it mean? As we reached a nearby store beacon, I asked the merchant of the market if he knew anything about the word. If I didn’t know any better, I’d say he looked offended at what I’d said. He told me that it was bad for me to nose around in any business not meant for petty humans. He shut off communications and left the beacon. What in the universe does it mean?
Captain’s Log 15/02/64
We were attacked today. A kamikaze rebel bomber hurled itself towards the ship, and crashed right into us. Two Mantis boarded the ship, and attacked Nelis. Beat him nearly to death before me and Layla finished them off. Nelis is recovering in the med-bay. But due to his dire state, I don’t think he’ll be out in the usual recovery time.
Captain’s Log 15/03/64
I’m worried about Nelis. He’s moaning and mumbling in his sleep. We’re going to see a famed Engi Doctor, so we can find out what’s wrong with Nelis other than injuries. Unfortunately, the Engi Doctor costs a lot of scrap. We’re going to have to do some sort of work to earn it.
Captain’s Log 15/04/64
We found a distress beacon, it was a ship being assaulted by a rebel bomber. We quickly neutralized the threat, and the ship was thankful. It rewarded us with at least 40 scrap, before asking us to help fix the ship. After we helped, they rewarded us with 55 more scrap. If you ask me, we just hit the jackpot.
Captain’s Log 15/05/64
When I woke up today, I went on a weekly check for the cargo, but when I got into the room, everything was completely wrecked. I can’t have this. I can’t have the bullcrap cliché of having a crewmember I can’t trust. In other news, we’re pretty close to getting to the engi doctor, But Nelis is getting pretty close to the other side. I hope that we get there in time…
Captain’s Log 15/05/64
We lost him. We lost Nelis. It wasn’t because we didn’t get there in time, we got to the doctor, and when we went into the med-bay to show him Nelis’s condition, He was out of his bed on the floor and as we stepped in, blew a hole through the hull of the ship. We also cost the world one famous Engi Doctor. I have a pushing feeling that this all has to do with ABADOTH. Layla told me that maybe our loss wasn’t in vein. What am I supposed to do?
