In the past, I used quite often Fraps software to capture my screen, then I moved onto the Bandicam, which has turned to be actually great :D

For me, I use TunesKit screen recorder, it's less costly and it basically meets all my needs.

there's several options. Fraps is one of the more well known ones. pretty easy to use. limit of 30 seconds recording time unless you buy it.

Bandicam is also relatively well known, but i personally have not used it, so i can't speak to ease of use. i think this one also has limitations unless you purchase (30 seconds filming time or a watermark or some such)

Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) is not quite as well known, but has people that absolutely swear by it. free. setup seemed a bit harder than Fraps, but then again, i also discovered the option below before figuring out this one, and stopped fiddling with it, so take that as you will.
