In the past, I used quite often Fraps software to capture my screen, then I moved onto the Bandicam, which has turned to be actually great :D

For me, I use TunesKit screen recorder, it's less costly and it basically meets all my needs.

Used to work on FRAPS for recording screen, i still like i though. But other than frasp there are many screen recorder apps for windows or android that you can try. OBS studio, Flashback express are my favorite ones to use along with FRAPS

If you are using a Linux desktop, Kazam is the best and perfect screen recorder software. You can select if you want to record the whole screen or just a certain area of the screen. They have also an option if you want to include sounds or no sounds from your recordings. It is free and easy to install.

But if you are using a Windows desktop, I don't know any good screen recording software for that operating system.
