The profile data for FTL is cross platform so you're welcome to migrate it to any machine. The locations for profiles are listed below for each operating system, just copy "prof.sav" over to keep your unlocked ships / achievements.

Windows

My Documents/My Games/FasterThanLight

That's for older Windows (XP and below I believe) -- Vista and up are \Documents\

Easiest: %userprofile%\My Games\FasterThanLight

That will give you the current location for the current user on the current Windows OS

As of the latest creation savings can now be found in the My Documents / My Games at the "My Documents" is different from Windows XP Vista 7, but I'm sure you know who you are!

I tried to run the application on Mac but unfortunately it often hangs

This gives me an idea. I have the game on Mac and PC via Steam. Maybe I'll link the file and use it with my DropBox folder. That way, it's like a cheap cloud workaround.

I Got the same issue with JUICED Game so I find a way to resolve it I copy my profile folder to another folder when I have to play game I paste my Copied folder there and play the game.
