[Bug] Secret Squad pilot issues (warning - spoilers)

Hey there Subset,

I absolutely love Into the Breach, and recently unlocked the Secret Squad after grinding out all the achievements. Their gimmick of having cyborg Vek pilots rather than regular human pilots is quite interesting, and based on the "Normal pilots cannot be equipped" text, I assumed I would be unable to use the human pilots for the duration of my run. This was not the case, however: I nabbed Ralph Karlsson for completing a perfect island, and was able to equip him as normal, sidelining the cyborg beetle pilot. Is this intended play? Perhaps I am misunderstanding the way cyborg pilots are meant to work, but this seems rather counterintuitive.
