Custom Ship Image Not Working

Ok, so I made a custom ship image and saved the image as a .png, but for some reason when I try to use the image in Superluminal2 it doesn't show up on the screen. In Superluminal I go to ship images, then hit browse, system, on hull image and I find the image's save location, and it even shows the directory in Superluminal as if I am using an image, but it doesn't show the image itself. Help?
