For anyone using this mod with other mods... You are likely to find some incompatibilities. If you get game crashes, try to run with only this mod to determine if this mod is the problem or not. Without a doubt any other full conversion type of mod will NOT work with this one... Turning the Tide for instance makes changes to Rebel encounters... This mod has zero rebel encounters (or it should), but uses those events still... so yes there will be issue when trying to use them together.
The High-res version of Infinite Space includes Higher Res backgrounds, so no need to add that mod as well. Same goes for DronesPlus. Beginning Scrap advantage makes changes to the first event in a sector... this will also not work with Infinite Space.
In short, I recommend only uses mods for custom ships. If you find Infinite Space too hard, than adding Weaponanza will likely help, and UnlockedAugmentations as well. However you will find the rewards for defeating the Cruiser ships to be lack luster because you can get buff items in the shops.
In the end its up to you how you want to play, of course. Good luck, have fun, and let me know if you want me to look into specific mod incompatibilities.

I refuse to read through 68 pages of comments to see if this happened to anyone else so I will just state that I got immediately killed by an asteroid field sending hundred of asteroids at me.

There's this little thing called search field... Either way, this is a known issue with FTL that was addressed and fixed by the devs in patch 1.03.3

Hi.
I downloaded your mod and spent a day playing in FTL with this mod.
And It is.... GOOD?
Yes... Good. But I found... glitches?... or something in game.
I Noted Next:
1.
When I started the game first time - all enemies had 2 shields and medium weaponry.
------------------------------With each start their weaponry and shielding level degraded.
(At first game - all had 2 shields and normal weaponry.
At 5th - every 1/2 had 2 shields and normal weaponry. Others - 1 shield - normal\weak weaponry.
Now - No ships with 2 shields and only weak weaponry. It's like 4-5 games I have this situations.)
2.Sometimes there are... kinda... COOL SHIPS in the system, but destroying them will give you low amount of scrap.
There is event where mantis ships fight and there are 2 options.
.1 - Fly away.
.2 - Wait and then fight remaining mantis.
I selected .2 and you know what?
Enemy ship had heavy leasers II, 4 shields, reinforced doors, cool engine, teleporter, alot of crew.
I destroyed it in 2 minutes using my drone laser and ion spam. Received 29 scrap for both This and destroyed in event ship.
3.
At some game I had really cool ship. lasers, shields, engines - maxed. Alot of subsystems nearly at maximum.
I passed to... umm... 6th sector... and rewards was from 20 to 30 scrap.
Enemy stuff was same. Always.
But i'm still playing it and I think I will not stop. Thanks for the mod!

FYI, I got really busy with work stuff, but I'm still here.
Can you give me the name of one of the drones that had a black texture?
Are you using other mods, maybe ones related to drones?
I'll take a look at this, and see if I can figure out what happened.
Yes, this is a FTL bug.
1. WOW! never heard that happen before. Not even sure how that could be. Are you using any other mods?
2. Yes the rewards are quite low in Infinite Space compared to vanilla. There are design reasons for this, but consider you have unlimited time to build up. If the rewards were larger, you would build up fast, and lose interest. Look at it as a challenge, even if it doesn't make sense. Also there are things in the game that can still be sold for a good amount, just the regular loot is low.
3. Same as above.

Strange. Today I have 1/3 of ships with medium weaponry/shielding/etc. at sector 1 and all ships with all cool at sector 3... Looks like it was pretty RANDOM.

Anyway I detected a 1 thing:
Beam DRONE II
Penetrates 1 Shield.
Does. . . . .1 Damage.
If it penetrates 1 shield it must do 2 damage?
