I can't find the "correct" FTL file. The one with the "FTLGame.exe". The only thing that I CAN find is the prof.sav. Thanks for the help in advance.

Search your computer for "FTLGame.exe", it will show you where it is.

Im so thankful for all the effort you have gone and put into these tutorials and such.

But in honestly I think ill give it a miss.

That is a big process but to allow me to play mods. Quite intimidating to a causal computer user like myself.

I seem to be having a problem with data.dat and resource.dat

The game runs fine, GMM goes through its scripts without an error message, but the mods don't get installed. In the resources folder I can see the original archives along with their backups and unpacked versions, but I can't unpack the archives themselves. I can unpack the mod .ftl files just fine, but none of the mod files are shown in the unpacked folders, and replacing those doesn't affect the game anyway.

I have the latest version of FTL off HumbleBundle on Windows7 64bit, installed to a secondary HDD (read: no UAC or anything) if that helps.

Linux update to users of steam and FTL

Edit main.py from line 432

dir_res = os.path.join(os.environ['HOME'], '.local/share/Steam/SteamApps/common/FTL Faster Than Light/data')

and

and line 437

dir_res = os.path.join(dir_root, 'data/resources')
