I came here specifically to say that your mod din't work for me, either, on my Mac. I've got the Steam version of FTL, version 1.70 of GMM and the hi-res version of your 0.4.4 mod. I did verify files, install your mod, and attempt to play FTL. Regardless of which ship I choose, the game crashes every time I click start.

Your mod sounds sweet, and I sincerely hope you can figure out this Linux/Mac compatibility problem soon enough. Thanks again for contributing to the community! :)

Rarrrg... Bug post time...

My game just crashed while doing an out-of-fuel wait (the distress beacon was on). I hadn't saved in a couple hours and had just finished my newest killer loadout, so I was pretty peeved. AND I had just found that W... G... again and was gonna try to figure out what it did...grrrr...

Other things I've noticed (I've helped beta test before):

- You've apparently modified the quests so the quest-start and quest-end occur at the same location. A couple don't work correctly, though. I will have to start taking their Wikia mission names (or describe the new ones) and say which act funny. I remember that one mission has you fight a ship at the start, then it WOULD have you fight another ship at the destination but this never occurs and the game acts as if you beat it instantly (FTL doesn't allow two ship fights at one beacon?).

- Two new quests seem to have options that don't point correctly: The Mantis Arena will lead you to the regular arena options if you fight and destroy the ship, but the options all cancel you out if you do so. This also occurs with the Comet quest if you choose the second blue option (requires level 8 engines?)--that is, you can only proceed if you choose the FIRST blue option, which has a failure chance.

- All the new cruisers will not board you until you do some system damage to their ship (all other ships immediately board you). If you revisit the encounter, they will board you immediately as expected. Is this behavior intentional?

Well, I had a lot of fun with my triple-anti-ship + ion blast II config (enough even to overwhelm defense drone II!), but I guess I'm done with this mod for now. Look forward to more updates in the future...and if anyone is having difficulty installing the mod, I know I have the latest Grognak's (released earlier this month) and the PC Steam version of FTL on Win7 64-bit; others with trouble should tell what their setup is.

Oh exciting. I think that makes you the first person to announce that they found the W G. How did your crew fair retrieving it?

Five serious attempts to find something in the relevant quest; three times succeeded in getting the W. G.; three times lost a crew member :? (Only once did I come out unscathed and successful.)

Not a bad few runs. There's potential to lose a couple more crew members too, so it's always going to be a gamble that one.

On your encouraging words, I decided to give it another go with the most OP vanilla config I know (Carnelian). I got the thing again, this time losing two crew members and taking a hull hit that nearly killed me right then and there!

Luckily, I had been running an all-warrior setup, and warriors are fairly easy to replace...didn't lose any of the original three Crystals on the FSS Killer Klown. (See, it's like a clown car...packed with more guys than you'd think can fit in it...and they come out and board you and kill ever--oh nevermind...)

Just for kicks, I tried your mod again today without the high res pack. It works on my Mac now! I just figured out what I'm doing with my Saturday!

Yeah, I also just found the W.G.
So no one knows what it does yet? I created an account here just to discuss it.
Also, I lost two crew members getting it, so I'm really hoping it pays off.

Is it still possible to unlock ships with this mod installed? All I have is the Kestrel, Stealth and Rock cruisers and I want the rest.
