Did this while I was taking a break from a mod that's annoying me.

Well, you fixed the shading that was bugging me, but you seemed to have misunderstood the change I wanted. While that hull would still work for my type A, it doesn't fit my type B now.

Type B rooms are going over the edge:

Maybe I should've drawn another line. Here I added a blue line and have the room layout showing:

Thanks for trying. Someone might be able to use that hull, but I'll need to edit that federation bomber front back into it so my rooms will fit.

Here are the Federation Bomber and Scout, to see if they give any inspiration on how to improve it:

Junkyard has FTL mods, mostly ships and a few other things.

Well, I didn't make any progress on that, but I did splice together a fugly little corvette. It was going to be something bigger, but then I decided the bigger part looked terrible, deleted said bigger part, and ended up with this.

One more from the archives: a cryogenic ship, from back when I abused the Colorize tool. (Now I abuse the Hue-Saturation sliders for marginally better results!)

Image

Its signature weapon was supposed to be a Freeze Ray, a beam that crystallized rooms that it hit. Unfortunately, those don't work. Double-unfortunately, I had already made the art before discovering this.

The lesson is to always test weapons before drawing them.

Recolor of a CE Rebel Cruiser to the good old Federation Boring paint scheme.

Image

Some kind of skinny Rebel ship, based on the Flagship and long Rebel fighter.

Now in Federation Boring.

Pretty neat! I think it looks like some sort of rebel cargo ship. I'd totally use it in a mod that added more ships to the game!

Deleted part of it, and now it looks like a Rebel fighter with some kind of attachment on the back.

I'll just throw it out there:

There are four fleet cruisers for both the Federation and Rebels, only viewable from the side, as a part of the background on certain events. The Rebels have one (fleet_big.png) which has already been turned into the Rebel Cruiser in FTL CE, and another which doesn't really resemble anything that has yet been made (fleet_1_med.png). The Federation has one which is already playable in vanilla FTL (Federation Cruiser/fleetfed_2_med.png), as well as one which we have not yet seen in any modification, fleetfed_1_med.png.

These two ships, fleet_1_med.png (Frigate) and fleetfed_1_med.png (unknown Federation ship) could be used as a reference to create ships based on their design, not unlike fleet_big.png and the Rebel Cruiser in FTL CE.

fleedfed_1_med looks vaguely like an Osprey, viewed from the side. Big ol' tube with thrusters and a large front.

The problem is that fleetfed_2_med.png looks exactly like an Osprey, viewed from the side, albeit with the red (salmon?) stripes in a different position. The solution is to make a new ship for fleetfed_1_med.png and fleet_1_med.png, obviously. The second problem is that I'm lazy. I would imagine that the fleetfed_1_med.png craft would look something like this:

Terrible, I know, but you only have to look at a small part of it while flying it thanks to the floor image.

Um... I can take a gander and making those ships... do I have to try to make it as strict to the original art as possible or should I try to do what CE did and downscale the ship and remove/ alter/ add features?
