Then don't buy the battery. Ever. It'll crash the game if the system gets hacked too.
The game doesn't like more than 30 bars of power (it can support 60 but you better not run into storms or use a battery)
Also, I think I lost another Kestrel. Stop that.

Stylesrj, have you even enjoyed the 1-shot-1-kill nature of this ship against the toughest CE enemies?

You know, it would probably be possible to make a mod for ships to just kill themselves automatically when you attack them.
Lowered the power a bit so the battery doesn't crash, re-download the patch if you want.

Yes, but the novelty wears off very quickly as I didn't "earn" the overkill weapons.

Pretty OK, I'd say - This time I actually managed (barely) to beat the game using the Kestrel, Normal mode, with AE content enabled. (A few years ago I could literally only get to sector 3 reliably on easy mode...)
