that is a good quest. Specially if you run high power equipment. Zoltan only loose out on health. The engi is good for some blue options, but you can repair quite fast with drones, and combat is not their forte. Mantis are good for combat, but thats about it.

also, while I am at it, Sleeper, I have not yet encountered any more bugs with the storms. I did run some "Potentialized" ships, and it crashes if I have a reactor of more than 30 power, hence I like this quest to get a full complement of zoltans for the shields.

The Zoltan sanctuary event is actually pretty good : you end up trading one of your crew for 3 Zoltan monks, which I believe have a level in melee combat.

Ok, so I will try it. Thanks for the info. I was always afraid of loosing my crewmember especially when I had two of them ;) . But still I think that more quests for every race through socializing would be good for the diversity. Sometimes instead of producing something onboard I like to talk with my crew. Maybe something unexpected will happen? :o

I also like socializing and my favourite is breeding Mantis. Once I had two daughters, one son and a parent of course :D

So, little problem.

Mod Manager hangs when it starts installing CE Endless Loot addon. Left it running overnight just to see, still hanging the next morning.

Check the "Mod manager freezes while processing the Endless Loot Addon:" section of the first post

Sadly, that is a bug with FTL itself, and not CE, so there's nothing that we can do about it :/

I started with a custom ship that included Artillery, but why has the error only shown up after about 4 stop and starts of the game?

apparently it is Java´s fault. I did everything described, and it still hangs. gave up on EL till a new version of SMM comes out, or some other fix comes out.

then again, balanced weapons is quite good in it self (dual Ifrit all the way!)

Careful though. When the crew member goes to leave, sometimes instead of your Zoltan disappearing, you lose someone else. I don't think the game can get rid of specific crew members in crew loss events.
I once had a Lanius and a few Zoltan onboard. The event stole my Lanius and gave me two Zoltan monks in return (not 3 by the way).
In fact when I had a ship mostly of Zoltan and a Lanius, I predicted the event would take away my last Lanius instead of a Zoltan. I was right. The RNG is cruel but (un)fair...

To me it was bad because Lanius are also good for socialisation. They might steal some of your scrap or they'll fix your ship, but the best event (if you have the scrap) with them is that they'll reproduce and create another Lanius for you. If you're not in an abandoned sector, this is great because I like using Lanius boarders. They're tied with Crystals in terms of power.

Speaking of which, how does that Crystal event work? When you use the stasis pod augment during the quest, it disappears. Is there something in the scripts about it that makes it unique and that trade good augments can't use something similar?

Every race have at least 2 possible positive outcomes of socializing (not sure about crystal, only seen one positive so far). It is completely untrue, that only Mantis and Engi are worth "clicking" (not to mention that, actually, Mantis have another outcome, which branch into 3 possible outcomes, depending on RNG and the class of ship you're using gives you possible, risk-free 3th outcome of one of the earlier outcomes... Don't want to spoil it, so I don't write about details).

What does it say in the black box that opens first? I bet it says Java Heap Space in all the stuff at the end.
Do you have a x64 system, if so update to x64 Java. Sometimes my computer will download the x32 Java(and before this mod I only had x32 Java).
If that doesn't work, then increasing your Java Heap Space will solve your problem. http://www.wikihow.com/Increase-Java-Me ... -Windows-7 I cannot link you to anything but Windows 7, because there is no way for me to know if the instructions actually work for ther OSs.

Cory, I did all of that. The thing is that my system is 32-bit, so maybe the problem sits there. SMM hangs at the black screen while loading EL.
