Re: Enemy FTL with no pilot

The game really needs a jump indicator for the enemy ship that shows whether or not they're capable of jumping. It needn't show progress towards jump completion, just whether or not they're able to press that button. Base it on the player's jump button so people are likely to figure out what's going...

Re: Balance thoughts after 59 hours.

Magnianhk: you don't seem to be aware of some basic teleporter strategies, probably because you think the teleporter is so weak. :) Item 1: unless the enemy has upgraded his doors, it's practically impossible for him to kill your crew since you can just keep them dancing about his ship until your te...

Re: Weapon Ideas

Compare the Strike Beam to the Bio Beam -- the Bio Beam has a long charge time, cannot breach, cannot penetrate shields, and takes at least three hits to kill crew (though it can hit multiple crew in each shot). And of course, if the enemy has a medbay then the Bio Beam is practically worthless unti...

Re: More useful stores?

On the flipside, if every single store sells just (say) crew and augments (or crew and crappy drones), then you're pretty boned -- you'll have to hope that you find useful weapons at random. Which does happen sometimes, but far from always. Without weapons you're basically screwed -- a teleportation...

Re: Don't you think this is kinda.......silly?

The only explanation is that since you know more about it than anyone, you'll have the best chance. Which doesnt work because it turns out you know jack about the Mothership and it's abilities. Who guessed it would runaway so much? Or that it had AI? Here's my going theory: the flagship has a super...

Re: Hazards in The Last Stand

I'd dare say that asteroids would actually help you more than the flagship in phase 2 -- they'd keep the defense drone occupied. They'd also greatly increase the likelihood that the droneswarm would get some beam shots through your shields. On the flipside, if you took out the flagship's crew in ph...

Yep, except I was using the Stealth B. First ship I met had a beam drone and mini-beam. Goodbye weapons, goodbye engines, goodbye ship.

Re: "Close-to-sun" jumps on Mantis homeworlds

(..) and Hull Repair Arm are fantastic) I hate this thing. Cuts your income whenever you're damaged or not AND doesn't repair enough to be dependable. Drone Recovery Arm + Hull Repair drone now that's money for nothing. Does that actually work? I thought the Hull Repair drone was consumed in the pr...

Re: [Suggestion] Custom difficulty

Of course, the flagship's layout would be constant across games, rendering it anywhere from trivial to impossibly difficult depending on your settings. But there should be more than enough possible settings in which the flagship would be a reasonable challenge; this seems like a clear win. I do seem...

Ahh, but Megaman is actually a skill-based game! *ducks*
