Style by Necessity: 'FTL: Faster Than Light', and Pixel Art as a New Cubism

Postby precursormar » Mon Dec 14, 2015 1:07 pm

Hello all,

I'm a long-time fan of FTL . . . like a 250-hours-played fan of FTL (yes, I am aware that that's nothing compared to some of you :)).

At any rate, I wrote an article a while ago about pixel art as a new movement in visual art (closely related to impressionism, abstract art, and cubism), and I used FTL as my test case for 'reading' pixel art in the article.

I thought you might like it. Here's the FTL pixel art article, if you're interested.

As an added bonus, the image at the top of that page is perler bead art of all of the FTL races (also made by me).

Let me know what you think!

Very good article, I agree that pixel art can be the new cubism.
