Well I did a little test run with the ship pack. I flew the Rebel Bomber because Mini Beam and Ions is a fun challenge that can go far or crash and burn in Sector 3-4.
Some of the events don't turn up. "A Federation Automated Scout comes in for an attack run! Battle stations!" Yet nobody came.
Asteroid Fields are also empty of automated ships. I actually encountered my first ship armed with a missile in Sector 2.
Speaking of automated ships, the actual image is offset badly, so I can't see what weapons it has except for the middle one and when it cloaks.
Also, escaping the Federation Fleet is easy. Instead of an Elite Fighter with BS weapons (although my first jump led me into a Rigger with two lasers and an attack drone with 3 points in Drone Control) I encountered the Placeholder Rigger that's used when the game can't generate the ship you want and instead goes to a backup which has two lasers, two defence drones and 1 layer of shields.
Some of the events though still mention Rebels, like having to hide from a ship behind a moon because they're searching for those with ties to the Federation...
Sector map is funny. Zoltan and Engi sectors are red dots, Mantis sectors are green but Rocks are still red? If you had something written as to why Mantis sectors are friendly towards Rebels (they are not) I probably didn't check as there was a very friendly Engi sector for me.
Around Sector 7, I got the very awesome Flak III. 14 seconds for 10 shots? Low price and having a Pre-Igniter? AWESOME! That Flagship didn't stand a chance.
So yeah, it's an ambitious project and I wanna see more but some things need to be fixed badly.
