So I've been upgrading 10 TP from the first build (9986 or whatever it was) and on the previous builds game played fine, however with 10074 the game launches, goes thru Loading, gets onto the first screen, but selecting anything from the menu (new game, options, etc) leads to a crash.
I've tried to reinstall steam client, remove game data and redownload the game, delete appcache folder -- nothing helps.
If you're on the same build of 10 -- 10074 and FTL runs fine for you then please post here, otherwise this is just a flag for developer.
PS. I've tried to run only one other Steam game -- Prison Architect and it ran just fine. It's only FLT which crashes.
PPS. If there's a non-steam beta I can try I'd be all over it.

Re: Windows 10 build 10074 - game crashes
I booted up Windows 10 in a VM and ran some tests. It worked... sort of.
Just backdate for now and wait for a more stable release.
If you weren't running it in compatibility mode, I'd recommend trying that before backdating.

Did you run this particular build: 10074? When you say it sort of worked, can you please elaborate?
I've tried the Windows 8 compatibility settings and still it loads but I can't go into Options or Start Game.
Win10 app compatibility troubleshooter didn't help either.
Now I'm thinking the source of the problem could be the display setting which I selected in-game (Native Fullscreen). Which file do I need to edit and how to set it to Windowed mode?
PS. When you recommended backdating -- could you please elaborate on that as well?

Lack of reply is disheartening.

There is a non-steam version (Humble) which links from the main website. As far as the crashing issue goes, check the contact page and see if you can get it resolved - if not, maybe they can set you up with the non-steam copy.
(Obviously I am not in any position to speak for the developers on this matter)

Oh, thanks dude (or dudette as a case may be), never occurred to me to try the HB version, I'll download it right away and try that one.

Yay, Humble Bundle version works! First I thought maybe it's because it initially started in Windowed mode, but then I switched to Full Screen (Native) it still worked.
But then I actually tried the Steam version and it worked as well!
I think it has to do with the KB-some-such update for 10074 build I've installed just before.
