Newbie play's FTL

Hi there,

I just recently started playing FTL and I love it. So much so that I did a few video's with my brother on the game, even though I suck at it still. So if you want a complete noob's perspective on the game, and if you want a super cringe-worthy Let's Play of FTL, click the link below.

So... You've done some things right but most of it is still noobie.
First you've gotta set sector goals
5th horseman has a list for this but I personally go for

Sector 1, 3 engines
Sector 2/3 shields 2
Sector 4, engines 4/5 shields 3
Sector 5/6 cloaking
Sector 7 shields 4 or buff engines
Sector 8 BUFF DURABILITY ON ALL THE THINGS!!!
Buffing durability... Here's an example
You have a lvl 2 oxygen but you don't need the second bar powered, so when it take 1 Dmg it still makes O2 for survival... (Exception Laius)
This sector thing can vary depending on what ship you use. If you use stealth a you won't need engines for a while and you start with cloak, but you need shields and if you don't get shields your screwed
Ps: if you see a status pod grab it. Because 1, the weapon is gonna suck and 2 the status pod leads to a very interesting secret (hint hint totally doesn't involve crystals nudge nudge)
