I renamed Sonata "Sonata.flt" and used Grog's mod manager. This happened in the terminal

Unpacking data.dat...
Unpacking resource.dat...
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/Users/Denise/Applications/FTL Faster Than Light.app/main.py", line 538, in <module>
ftl = zf.ZipFile(filename, 'r')
File "/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.7/lib/python2.7/zipfile.py", line 701, in __init__
self.fp = open(file, modeDict[mode])
IOError: [Errno 21] Is a directory: 'Sonata.ftl'
logout

How do I fix this?

I just did the same as you. All good. You have the latest version of GMM? If you do, then i haven't a clue why it would fail.

It seems you have already extracted the FTL file. Currently, Sonata.ftl is a folder, not a zip file as it should be. Try to use the original file you downloaded, not a modified / extracted / renamed copy.

I did this... It was downloading as a Zip folder and finished downloading as a regular folder. If i DONT rename it, Grog Mod Manager doesn't pick it up.

Even if you rename it, the Mod Manager will not properly pick it up, because it expects a file, not a folder.

Some kind of "useful" feature is unzipping the mod file right as you are downloading it. Try to find this feature and disable it, or use another browser that will quite simply just save the file and not mess with it. :)

This is a great mod, well done.

I love Endless Space, so this mod is right at home for me.

I think the replacement of the kestrals B is a bit overpowered, i breezed trough sectors 1-2 with 3 damage taken, and only went beyond half HP on the flagships second escort (Which killed me).
Everything is placed greatly into the world, and very little felt out of place.

In addition, due to having knowledge of LoL/Dota, i died laughing upon realizing what the second escorts music was.

I'm having a hard time getting the Mod through GMM. It shows up and tries to patch it through, but nothing happens whenever I open the game. Here's what it looks like in GMM:

Unpacking data.dat...
Unpacking resource.dat...

Installing Sonata.ftl
- WARNING: Unsupported folder Sonata-master

Repacking data.dat
Listing files to pack ...
Create datfile ...
Packing ...

Repacking resource.dat
Listing files to pack ...
Create datfile ...
Packing ...
logout

[Process completed]

I got the .zip file in the Mod folder with the .ftl extension, but I keep getting that "WARNING: Unsupported folder Sonata-master." Anything that I can do?

This means that the .ftl file contains a folder named "Sonata-master", instead of "data", "img", and/or "audio" that should be there instead.
Try repacking the mod so that those files are the top-level directories of the ftl archive.
