Latest Patch Performance Issue (Asteroid Fields)

Hello everyone,

I am running the latest patch of FTL (1.6.5) on Windows 10 Version 1709 with no mods installed, and my game works fine in most areas except in the asteroid fields. My FPS just drops to around 15 here, while running at a consistent 60 in other areas. Also, I have disabled the frame limit and Vertical Sync in the in-game settings, with no effect.
I am also using -directx in the Steam launch options, which helped my FPS in the other areas.

Anyone have any ideas about this?

There's an option in the Options screen for "Dynamic Backgrounds". Please try disabling that and it should be fine in asteroids (assuming the game works everywhere else without problems).
