ipad backup to icloud (or literally anything)

Can you implement some kind of saving system like we have on the steam version of this game? I fear that without this, I'm inevitably going to lose my progress eventually. iCloud, Dropbox, anything. I know there used to be the possibility of manually backing up the save file with iFunBox or similar tools, but I don't think that's possible anymore (please correct me if I'm wrong!) I suppose the recommended backup method is a complete iTunes application backup. This just doesn't make much sense, and it's fragile and hard to manage. If it's possible to add some solid built-in automatic backup, you'd get my vote!
