Great job, whoever built that ship. 1 Beam, 1 Beam drone. I actually let it stay there, endlessly lasering me while I made some coffee.

I've seen worse. I once faced a ship that had a mini beam as its only weapon. It had drone control, but it must have had only system repair or anti-personell drones.

In any case, that ship could have been a threat if you were using a ship that doesn't start with shields (stealth ship or Zoltan B.)

You stop laughing at ships with a few beam weapons when you play the stealth ships.
I was using the Stealth A and ran into a ship with a beam drone, anti-ship drone, mini-beam, and 2 shields (before I bought shields)

I don't have a pic of it but I ran into a rebel ship that only have a basic laser as a weapon in sector 5 no attack drones, nothing

Anyone ever attack the zoltan cruiser unlock quest peace ship?

I only met that ship once. I might attack it if i see it again. I got the Mantis quest a dozen times but Rock, Engi, Slug and Zoltan only once.

I just had a run where I fought 2 in a row that had nothing but beams. I was using the stealth ship but luckily I had already bought a shield.

yup i attacked them i destroyed there oxeygan and watched them suffocate and when i first did it (this was right when the game released) it gave me a burst laser 2

Sometimes like this enemy ships will be armed with only a basic laser and either system repair or anti-personnel drones. Like the mini beam only ones they can't get through even 1 shield, but also pose even less of a threat to the shieldless ships. It will take longer to get through the energy shield of zoltan B, and as for the stealth ship it will do less damage per shot, and unlike a beam can be dodged with cloak and may miss on its own due to the high engine of stealth A.

Almost got the Mantis ship, but realised I had no Teleports. Was a sad day.
