She

Postby Craxuan » Thu Sep 27, 2012 11:51 pm

'She' was born to be magnificent. Unbeatable. Throughout the creation of her body, 'She' was never taught once of the concept of defeat.

[Stealth system down. Ion system down. Damage irreparable. First stage body separation begin.]

So this was just tactical retreat. A momentary breather before destroying the enemy once and for all. Her crew had believed so, her calculations had stated matter-of-factly, and 'she', the indomitable queen looked on towards the outer space without an inch of fear within her heart.

"We're losing our droids! Get out, get ou - AAAGGGGAAAAAHHHHH - Kggh"

"Raymond? Raymond?? This can't be happening; what the hell are you guys doing?! Just blow that ship already!"

[Droid system lost. Beam system lost. Second stage body separation begin.]

And yet the results were different from expected. Completely different. The seemingly insignificant yet permanently disruptive ion shots chipped incessantly at the shields until they were all but too weakened. Contrary to the captain's beliefs, the enemy's rapid lasers punched right through the shields and drill holes into the weapons system. Contrary to the computer's calculations, the enemy's dual missiles practically blew away the entire shield compartment. Even the attack drones joined in the public humiliation and danced all over her hull while squirting shots everywhere like they were free.

[Shut down imminent. Laser Storm System activated - enemy ship undetectable. Enemy ship detected. Laser Storm has failed to hit the target. All systems critical red. Shut down imminent. Shut down imminent.]

There were no orders from her commander. He was dead; slain by a stray shot from the laughing drones. Considering that he was diving foolishly into the Shielding room in attempt to salvage whatever was left, he might've died a better death than otherwise.

'She' stared curiously at the incoming fire, fearless and innocent. Laser beams, bright as fireworks, eating through her hull like acid on bread. Roaring missiles streaking across space and slamming into her side, ensuring a multitude of colorful explosions that knows no repair. Ion fire, the ever annoying porcupine who even now threatened to overrun her AI with charges of electricity. And then there were laughing drones.

And then 'She' realized with a start. At this second, at this very moment, 'She' was about to witness her own death. The supposedly unbeatable ship. The supposedly indomitable power. Her inventors were so wrong that 'She' would've laughed if she could.

... Still, 'She' had her duty.

Still, 'She' had her pride.

[In the end, I have lost.]

"...? Who is this?"

[Though I am lost, your victory is not secured yet. Struggle until the end, puny Engi, as the bearer of my death. Initiating self-destruct program in 5. 4.]

"- Shit! Shoot it! Throw everything we have at the ship! Crash the drones if we have to!"

'She' probably won't be remembered as whom 'she' wish to be.

[3. 2.]

'She' probably will be forgotten as quickly as her commander's death has been. After all, 'She' has lost, and thus 'She' is nothing more than a failure.

[1.]

But even so, if that's what her fate is going to be, if death is the only end a failure like her could acquire, then -

KABAAAAAM!!!

"Haszzzzz - sto - zzzzzzt?"

"Seems - zzzzt - just to bezzzzzz - surezzzzz"

At the very least, 'She' will be ---

P.S: Man I finally took down the bloody Flagship. The ending was rather lackluster, or rather there's almost no ending at all which was kind of disappointing, but whatever. ON TO THE NEXT GAME IT IS!
