I've resisted this, I've wanted to like Kaz more, I have a big emotional attachment to Bethany, I've wanted to make it work with Mafan (but I broke up with him quicksauce). I keep coming back to good ol' Arch.He is pure and simple the best, but it's with a qualifier. If you can find an Arch with a MECH REACTOR and HP upgrade you'll never lose. Why?
Stick him in your most useless Mech (cough hook mech cough), have him do his useless action, then MOVE HIM ON AN EMERGING VEK. That's up to 4 or 5 HP you're keeping off the board. Once your squad gets strong enough to handle more Vek, YOU are in the driver's seat for how many Vek surface, making him far and away the best pilot. PROVE ME WRONG.

Well, I prefer a Human or Slug on the bridge piloting since the other races need to be doing something else, generally. But a Lanius can defend it better if they transport a boarding party there.
