Ship spoilers below!
So I started with the Engi Cruiser 'B' layout with just a pilot and on my very first jump... encountered the mad man in a cave XD. I brought him on board and he killed a (random) crew member... and the game ended. Fastest game ever!
And so I learnt from this to upgrade my medbay before bringing him onboard XD.
Anyone else had a comically fast loss in FTL?

Mantis B, first jump ran into a zoltan cruiser. His first shot knocked out my engines.

My worst loss was with the Mantis type B, my first jump was into an asteroid field; with an auto-assault that had two shields, a leto missile, dual lasers, and a beam drone.
First leto hit the engine room, then the dual lasers opened a hole for the beam drone and an asteroid to smash me. It all went downhill from there.
