Given that FTL can be played as a short Beer n' Pretzels game (and is partly inspired by one such game), i would agree with the low score as that kind of game. But i disagree with the game being described as worthless. Just the amount of hand painted pixel art and details is worth something. Not to mention the replayability, the unlockable content, the diveristy of starting ships and equipment, and the excellent balance of weapons and augments (nothing is truly useless).
I also disagree that it's luck based. Skill plays a huge role as well, though randomisation cannot be denied. Part of the problem is that if the game is played in short quick sessions, it's nowhere near as good or deep as it is when played as an adventure. Usually FTL addicts players so they have no choice.
As a short, quickie game, FTL deserves a lower score, mainly because of the difficulty. There is simply too much to learn to make it an enjoyable short game. Weird Worlds, linked above, works much better in that regard but it lacks the depth and appeal FTL offers. Both are about equally unforgiving.

I find the Reverse Ion field and most of the FTL augments kinda bad... Unless the field has another benefit other than 20% Negate chance?
I hate FTL...
But I love it at the same time...

Well i guess some are debatable, but they can all be used. I only used the Reverse Ion once, and only because it was in the Last stand and i had moneys and an aug slot. Hardly an excited recommendation i admit, but it did make a minor contribution to the boss fight by helping keep the shields up. Esp. during bosses opening salvoes involving Heavy Lasers and Boss-Beam.

Just another person who believes everything should be free.
Do you work for free OP?
I mean, you turn up on time and you kind of do what you should, but really, you shouldn't get paid. You're just doing what you should be doing.
Developers, especially indie developers, deserve to reap the rewards of their time and effort. Else you will never get any originality in gaming in the future. Look at the hacking sections in Deus Ex-HR - lifted totally from Uplink, a little indie game.
$7.50 is a bargain for the time I've spent on this game, and a very fair price.

There should be a hardcore mega-death mode where all the enemies are overpowered and the boss has an artillery beam, but your score is higher, you can upgrade your hull too, and you can upgrade your Maximum Maximum Power/

I like the whole random play through just about every time that this game offers but what I don't like is a game that takes more luck than skill. Personally give it a 4 out of 10 cause it's good to play while you are patching up a game, downloading something else, or just need a small amount of time to kill but your most likely not missing out on anything special.
Most likely a troll, but you got it all wrong. It takes knowledge and skill to use what you get. A good player can win with an unfortunate streak in weapons and events, were a poor player would just die and say it is bad luck.
