This is private.

Fixed, also I updated my older sprites, with my improved skills. A new stun beam and slimmer railguns!

Oh my oh my, just watched that video and it looked very cool! I do not think it would play the same as my barrage laser idea which was something you worried about. I really like the idea of adding chain to it and making it graphically a bunch of smaller shots.

You feared earlier for being a noob but you already surpass me in what I believe I am good at (granted I feel like I am very bad and often doubt myself often which is why usually any compliments or simple response to my projects or myself often yeild very positive responses). Could be judging myself to harshly. either way.

However inspiration comes in many forms- your video just made me think of a new weapon... in shorts: it's an anti enemy defence drone weapon :D

Yeah, i noticed that the Vulcan Photocaster had a tendency to take down defense drones, due to its large radius and its fast firing rate. An interesting and unintentional side-effect, huh.

In all honesty, it was a spur of the moment idea. I thought to myself, I'll make a photo-vulcan! A faster (once spooled up) vulcan that is hilariously inaccurate psychotic brother of the chain vulcan that nobody wanted! just to confirm we are not stepping on each others toes, for the regular photocasters stats are; Take equivalent power burst-laser (Bar the MK-III), add an extra shot, tack on 2 seconds to it's cooldown, and give it AoE targeting, worse than flak. (65-70 region)

Repeating photocaster mark I - 1 power, three shots, 12 second cooldown, 65 radius.
Repeating photocaster mark II - 2 power, four shots, 14 second cooldown, 65 radius.
Heavy Repeating photocaster - 3 power, five shots, 16 second cooldown, 75 radius.
Heavy Dual Photocaster - 4 power, four two-damage shots, 20 second cooldown, 65 radius.

I heard self-criticism is one of the harder things to overcome in artistry. Also I still think you are better than me when is comes to the sprite department.

I can't believe I didn't think of this sooner! It's not going to be the biggest thing, but I think I'm gonna turn the GDI ion cannon into a giant artillery station mini boss thing. For those who don't know what the ion cannon looks like:

Image

The other one's a little to big to reasonably put up, so here's a link. The ship is just gonna be one giant artillery animation with one ginormous ion beam of doom! DOOOOOM! There has to be a pretty great reward for beating it, so I'll try to think of an excuse to give the player this smaller ion cannon if and when that happens.

And by the way, WhiteWeasel, those weapon are looking pretty darn good! You may want to do a little more work on the lighting effects but besides that they look fantastic.

my barrage lasers are similar to regular reload times atm. being from mk 1 to 3, 12, 14, 16 at power 1, 2, 3.
All shots do 1 damage and I am not planning for a heavy version but a light version is in the making. (light lasers alike to CE's)

Shots will be 3,5,7.

which is to the relative mk.... +1, +2, + 2
with area being 50, 60, 70.

Balance isn't really tuned yet- one major build in 'balance' is rarity but still. Ideas of increasing reload times a bit more may work and I may reduce spread by 5....

problem with the ballance with these is I am trying to make them a matching pair to the normal burst lasers- which isn't balanced themselves.

Burst laser I and III is bad but the burst laser II is the best weapon in vanilla game.

there is also the duel laser- also known as "original" burst laser II and/or lower level burst laser I which is 1 power and besides that the same to the burst laser II...
then there is the "burst laser I" aka the basic laser which just fires 1 shot.

Burst laser I and II in normal game are the same power...

if it was 1, 2, 3 power for the mk 1, 2, 3 it would be easy. if the cooldowns were a bit different for the mk I and III to be worth it then it may be easy. BUT atm the mk II is flatout better and that may mean my barrage laser II may be better out of hte 3 if I base them on these... so in a way I am basing them of the duel laser, burst laser II, and a 1 power less burst laser III.

First art for my "Chemical laser" range, similar to equivalent laser weapon but slightly slower reload time but higher fire chance and slightly slower projectile speed.
This is made as a cheaper industrial laser or a cheap weapon for pirates and militias and such around the rims of the sector far from trade or income.

Ok, here's the old and new stun beam for comparison.

I'm impressed that an extra shade or two can really improve the look of a sprite, though I try to keep my palettes simple, give my weapons that stock alike feel, and keeps them from getting tedious to sprite.
