I've been modding FTL for a while and I've feel like I'm out of things to do. I enjoy making and balancing ships, but I no longer have anything to make. (be careful though because if you use multiple at once they conflict, so when you go into slipsteam only add one at a time. Also just drop each file into the mods folder in slipstream to make this ships work.)

I tried to keep it as clear to your definition as possible, with them mess hall and everything, but I couldn't really make a cargo bay for the sprite I had created. I gave it generally good starting equipment and I hope you enjoy it. It's fairly balanced as far as I can see and I guess it's realistic.

I'm not sure how much work you're willing to put into this, but I've always wanted a large, federation-style (Kestrel, Osprey, Stealth, etc) ship/cruiser with a logical, realistic layout. As in, central access corridor, security and surveillance systems being close to the bridge, rooms that you could consider crew quarters, a mess hall, or a cargo bay, that sort of thing, as well as enough room/positions for most/all systems.
I have no images or anything to provide, and it's probably too much work, so I'd get if you didn't want to do it.

make a mod where u can play as the slug intercepter and you start with a burst laser mark III (p.s make it replace the slug type a)

If your interested, you can be a big help with the Randtrel tool/mod.
I've created about 8 new hull variants for each player ship, using photoshop recoloring magic.
If you can create player ships with a different paint job (stripes/spirals/pirate markings/etc..), then that will really help make the tool a loot more interesting.
Same goes for the ship layouts - I've added about 9 layouts per ship (6 based on the original room images, 3 more using a new set of different room images). If you can add some more layouts, that'll be great!

is the interceptor a ship from the game, because nothing with that name comes up in the system files. I have made a new slug ship design and I'm going to add a hull to that, but if you want one of the base sprites from the game I.E. these ships:
