Re: [Interface] Accessible crew bios and choosable start roo

The second biggest source of tedium that gets in the way of fun is firing up my kestrel for the 20th time and moving a dude into the shield room, then wiping the first battle because I forgot to turn on autofire again. I agree with an easier way to get your guys back to station.. or at least know w...

Re: Unexplored Nebula

uncharted nebula sectors do not slow down the rebel fleet. You would only go there if you are looking for some dangerous/opportunistic events more frequently. Having teleporter, cloaking, engines, scrap arm, or reinforced hull might help with some events that occur there. oh well that is lame! one ...

Re: Charging weapons while enemy is cloaked

Well shit, if the situation is that dire, him having cloak isn't going to make much of a difference. Sometimes the game will fuck you over, but that's part of the risk/reward thing, too. Seriously! I have had games where one branch of a series of jumps is a dead end, even tho it looks like it will ...

Re: Unexplored Nebula

Unless I read the tooltip wrong I thought that the uncharted nebula sectors didn't actually slow down the rebel fleet. I'll have to check when I get home or can someone confirm? I think you have to be in the sector and mouse of a beacon in a nebula area. I don't totally follow what you mean... Are ...

Re: Charging weapons while enemy is cloaked

The problem with cloak is that 9/10 what ends my game is some cloaking drone ship in an asteroid field with 3-4 layers of shields and 3 missile launchers and a pulse laser. This is when I usually put more power to engines and try to jump out. Too bad, you just got hit with all the missiles. You now...

Re: Charging weapons while enemy is cloaked

It would make using cloak an active skill. You have to time your cloak for use in order to give 100% dodge chance to incoming fire and to buy time to repair. In its current state it's not only defensive, it's aggressive as well since the cloaked ships weapons still charge. That wouldn't be defensiv...

Re: Charging weapons while enemy is cloaked

The issue is that if you didn't prohibit weapon charging cloak doesn't make any sense.. It is not like you couldn't fire the instant they decloak... and then what did they gain by cloaking. They dodged a wave of your weapons and bought time to repair. Possibly even continued firing their own weapon...

Re: Charging weapons while enemy is cloaked

The module that makes them charged after a jump renders the 'it's for targeting' reason null. The issue is that if you didn't prohibit weapon charging cloak doesn't make any sense.. It is not like you couldn't fire the instant they decloak... and then what did they gain by cloaking. The prefire thi...

Re: NPC warp out question

I've also had an enemy ship jump out while my boarding team was assaulting their cockpit and killing their pilot. One would imagine that getting killed would be a little bit distracting from plotting a jump in FTL :p (I know I had a warning that they were trying to jump out, but I'd like to get a l...

Re: Charging weapons while enemy is cloaked

What Nox meant was that, while you are cloaked, the enemy's weapons don't charge while your's do, thus delaying their attack even further. To use a board game analogy, when you cloak, the enemy loses a turn (and visa versa). You are right I miss read that.. I guess it was more a response to OP.. :D
