I'd say go for it! I don't think it would feel wrong. You'd have a good justification for it, and that particular FTL convention needn't always apply. The sprite art, as always, is gorgeous. How do you shade your ship hulls? I sacrificed a day's sleep at the altar of Photoshop chasing after missing...

It'd be easier if I'd just drawn the ship larger. But no, I'm so OCD that I had to draw all my ships to scale...

Nope, only the Clone Bay and Medbay can be swapped. What you can do is stack rooms but they have their own problems when it comes to repairs. One thing you can do is have a ship with 7 systems and the 8th one is always in the same room, sort of like a modular cargo bay or something. But then stuff ...

In the way that the Medbay replaces the Clonebay and vice-versa - is it possible to make, for one ship, the Drones/Hacking to swap and the Cloaking/Mind control to swap? Trying to make a smaller ship and don't have the room for all those...rooms.

It's when I'm first compiling the assets. I was attempting to create a weapon, had all my folders and files ready, zipped them together and then renamed .zip to .ftl. Nothing happened whenever I patched it in - the same thing happened when I tried to compile a ship this way.
