I now says that "It doesn't append. It clobbers" when I try validating the mods. this is not an error, probably just letting you know that you're replacing sounds.xml rather than appending to it. in general, Validate will just tell you things about your mod, and you should try it if you r...

The only issue im having is how do I put the modded data.dat and resource.dat back? ive looked at the readme file and the actual page of FTL UnPacker 1.0.1, but im still clueless as to where specifically do I put them in? just used an (un)packer program and added the code in like that, but I got resource.dat and data.dat by packing the same thing into those two. I presume ill have to find where the unmodified versions are and replace them? ah I see. yeah modding approach is probably better in the long run, but this ...

The projectile of AnAngryMantis's version worked and despite copy/pasting the text from the animations.xml I can't get them to work on my mod ... I cannot fathom why the projectile don't work. well you can create animations in animations.xml, but it's meaningless if you don't use them in your weapo...
