Technically, you could. Type B-unlocks are tied to the achievements, so you could give the player two of the three achievements, unlocking the ship. I've messed around with the FTL Profule Editor, and found that having two achievements without the Type A variant of the ship will unlock it.

At first i have to say that this is a very nice mod. I have two questions: 1. we have the new enemys treel, Uz'ran.... but why are there no new races like human, engi, rock, zoltan. for example: Treel - give's manned systems one extra Level (like zoltan give power but now for System Level) - 60 hp ...

It's in autoBlueprints.xml? Hm... I haven't really poked around with Artillery in a while. It is a weapon, though. I know that for sure.

Is the artillery weapons blueprint considered as a weapon you have on your ship? It does count as a weapon. If you were to look in the blueprints.xml file, you would see a weapon blueprint that is for the Artillery system. If I remember correctly, it's something like BEAM_3. I think there's an even...

Making custom Artillery is actually pretty simple. Artillery is just a weapon that is made into a system. You can modify what weapon is used as Artillery in Superluminal 2.

Well, the two main programs you need are a file unpacker and a text editor. For modding FTL, I use the FTL Unpacker tool and Notepad++, but there are a wide array of programs that you could use.
