Chain effects are only known to alter damage or cooldown. Shield piercing is likely impossible.

You have to add to an existing file. You can't make new files.

Thanks! I've uploaded the fix so the option should no longer appear when you have oxygen. No change to version number since it was a minor bug that had no real impact. Based on what you've said and haven't said, I'm guessing that you made a shieldless ship that doesn't have a room for a shield system. The Zoltan shield and the shield drone requires the ship to have a shield system in the shipBlueprint.

To encounter a mini-boss at the start of a sector, you need to have Level 6+ Shields. If you want to fight them, then you need to have Level 4+ Engines.

I'm guessing you need to upgrade your engines.
