Re: [GNU/Linux] Random crashes

After upgrading from Linux Mint 13 to 17, the sounds in FTL started sounding compressed, music is fine. Tried the latest libbass files from un4seen, but didn't help. In Mint 13 both FTL sound and music were fine, so I guess the problem is some incompatibility of libbass/libbassmix with newer version...

Re: Impossible hit

Had the phantom hit again, this time with useful photographic evidence. Slug Light Cruiser with 4 shields, I got Dual Lasers, Hull Laser 1, Ion Stunner and Heavy Laser 1. I've hacked his pilot and managed to damage his weapons before. During Hacking cooldown, I try to get at his clone bay to make wa...

Re: Deleted progress

Three time's a charm! Just lost another save game (continue.sav turned to 0 bytes) and the profile was wiped as well. I had quit FTL normally and without glitches, but then turned off the computer with the power button instead of turning it off by software, so I think the glitch (at least in Linux) ...

Re: Sound not working on Linux 64-bit OpenSUSE 13.1

I think it could be related to a problem discussed (and worked around) here: http://www.ftlgame.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=17208 Specifically, installing libbass from this link seems to help: http://www.un4seen.com/forum/?topic=8682.msg106377#msg106377 Haven't tried it myself, as I run an old...

Re: Flagship AI

As they say, a watched kettle doesn't boil. I think the repair speed is subjective but it would be nice to know if your theory is true. It seems I was wrong! *gasp* I haven't had time to do it systematically or even properly, but I hacked a couple of auto ships and counted how long it takes for one...

Re: Do you stat grind?

Haha, I thought you were asking about polishing your overall FTL session stats.

I usually do household chores while levelling up my crew members for free, and only rarely do I kill them all by suffocation or underestimation of a combat drone.

Re: Flagship AI

The thing with auto repair is that it starts once the system is damaged for the firs time and then continues even when the system is destroyed or hit again (like normal repairs). Depending on how fast the system is destroyed, the the one-bar auto repair stated after the first damage taken might alm...

Re: Lost all of my data

This is an unresolved, seemingly random bug that has affected a number of players (twice myself) - just view it as another difficulty the game (or threat the rebel fleet) imposes on you. On the bright side, you can improve your game statistics significantly when starting from scratch with some exper...

Re: Flagship AI

I have got the impression that the repair speed of auto ships is random, some being noticably faster than others. Maybe the same is true for the flagship AI. Other somewhat randomised timings concern the ASB firing rate and the flagship super weapon firing rate. Since several systems will be repaire...
