Re: [Program] FTL Homeworld

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. Real life has been really busy. I haven't done much programming, other than to fix a bug, but I did make a 3d model of the Kestrel. It doesn't look great as I didn't do a great job with the UV map and haven't done any texturing, but it's kind of neat: Kestrel Steps...

Re: [Program] FTL Homeworld

I'm sorry! I'm still learning, so I can't answer with much confidence. One thing that I've tried is to run it through a bat file. Are you familiar with that? Use a text editor and copy these lines in: apologies but copy into what file? Haha, no problem at all. You need to make a new text file. So o...

Re: [Program] FTL Homeworld

Hi Roza! I'm new at this too, so I'm not good at troubleshooting. Did you download 1.2? Are you using windows? Try deleting the homeworld cfg file and trying again. yes I have done that. twice. and i did download 1.2. I'll try it again though. maybe a hidden conflict with profile editor and FTL hom...

Re: [Program] FTL Homeworld

BAH! I've been spamming refresh as I've worked and not seen any new posts. I didn't notice the 5th page in the corner. Gosh! lol. I'll update this post as I go through.... just quickly, I downloaded this and profile editor and got both configs. I selected the directory for homeoworld and now it does...

Re: [Program] FTL SpaceDock

------ Latest Progress: I'm working on cargo bay, which will let you trade items between ships or store them in "Space dock storage". To store/save the items in storage, I'm creating a dummy save file "Homeworld.sav". My idea is that a ship can store unlimited drones, crew, weapo...

Re: [Program] FTL Homeworld

If you're only ever gonna have one listener, might as well ditch the inner class and put an actionPerformed() method on the panel itself. 8-) Wow, that's crazy! (I never would have thought to implement "this" and so would have thought it impossible). I think that that should be my only li...

Re: [Program] FTL Homeworld

From SpaceDockUI.java: buttonList[i].addActionListener(new BoardListener()); You don't need to create separate listener objects dedicated to each button, btw. That listener class's actionPerformed knows how to figure out the source on its own, as each event occurs. BoardListener boardListener = new...

Re: [Program] FTL Homeworld

At the top of Spacedock UI, declare a lookup table: HashMap<JButton,ShipSave> btnToShipMap As you create the buttons: btnToShipMap.put(someBtn, someShip); In the listener: Object source = ae.getSource(); if (source instanceof JButton) { JButton sourceButton = (JButton)source; ShipSave myShip = btnT...

Re: [Program] FTL Homeworld

Well, there's a very simple way to work around that. And it only requires a single private variable, set to a certain object... In case you couldn't figure it out, check this . The private Self Variable is genius, but now I'm having trouble with accessing the SpacedockUI pane (static, nonstatic tro...
