Re: Your "Holy Crap" moments

I see your BL II and raise you by a Flak II. On the Fregatidae. That already had a Flak I installed. Which I later swapped for another Flak II.

Flagship vs. Flakship: no contest.

Steam/Humble Key Give-Away

Some games from our Humble Libraries that we either already have or don't want. Speak up & I'll PM you the gift link. Tentatively I'm gonna say one code per person, first come first served. And if you're feeling generous you're free to chuck one or two bucks towards your favorite charity. Edit: ...

Re: Other games with harsh difficulty

FYI, Teleglitch is part of the current Humble Bundle for three more days.

Re: FTL got ripped off:Space Rogue

I'd also like to point out that simple mechanics aren't everything. To me, FTL is a classic because everything just fits: ambience, lore, soundtrack, visual presentation, and of course gameplay. It's tight as a drum and exactly my speed. The "FTL-clones" Solar Crusaders , Spacewrights , an...

Hyper Light Drifter

Just stumbled upon this. Normally, I'm no RPG or Hack&Slash kind of guy, but Hyper Light Drifter looks unbelievably gorgeous and atmospheric.

Uuh, nan ites should, by definition, way too small to cut anything, except maybe protein molecules. Besides, what else would you drink? Crystal stuff will cut you, Rockmen coffee melts your gut, Slugs are chugging pumpkin spice soy lattes, Zoltan brew will give you cancer and the evil rebels are set...

Re: Your "Fuck you, FTL" Moments

Shields were already fully depowered, but kept getting zapped. Coulda probably just waited it out, RNG has to show mercy sometime, but eventually I just jumped. Again, thinking " How bad can it be? " is probably not the best move in FTL... Edit: And also: instant coffee is the devil...

O2? What's that? The system I always forget to turn back on after battle?

Re: Your "Fuck you, FTL" Moments

Fight in a pulsar sector against enemy who uses ion weapons: easy win, but the shields keep getting zapped. Finally I jump with the Ion countdown on the last quarter - how bad can it be? After all, I should be able to recharge shields before the next enemy gets off their first shot. Next encounter: ...
