Re: A recommendation: Work on a demo.

As far as I am concerned, these days if a video such as an LP are as good as a demo as long as they clearly don't have the screw ups of the person playing it edited out. I like things like WTF Is... for that reason and the videos the Devs shared while Kickstarter was going on to show they were worki...

Re: Spam!?

I know when I have seen these less than stellar posts, first thing I went looking for was a report or rate or ignore feature. Here I thought those sorts of things were in by default on a forum. :|

Re: Where did you hear about FTL?

I recall a PC Gamer article on the website and it being mentioned in ... I think both the US and UK podcasts at around the same time, I think some of them had attended some Indie awards show or conference and told us all about it. At the time there was just the main FTL website which had the first y...

Re: Steamworks: Steam Cloud

Saves are important, like anything I am using that can be interrupted, I like to be able to return to it at a later time once I can give it my full attention again - if it lasts longer than a couple minutes, lack of a save anywhere and reload later system is very notable because IRL doesn't give a c...

Re: Free indie games you shouldn't miss

I highly suggest the following free Indie games: Brogue http://sites.google.com/site/broguegame/ I always have had a hard time with ASCII and games that didn't make good use of the mouse. Rogue-likes have often had both those issues - and Brogue doesn't. And when you see the colours, oh the colours....

Re: Steam Achievements (PC version)

No, I understand, I just make no use of them and sometimes they are a hindrance. Its not hate, its ambivalence - the only time I notice a game's achievements is when they pop up and in the noticing it may be interrupting a gaming moment that already has my attention. Tell me, do you "hate"...

Re: Suggestion: Space Suits?

Heh, not trying to quibble but Star Trek did have space suits if you count the movies, where they even occasionally vented some poor crew member out into space when there was a hull breach. :) I like your take on maybe not having enough suits for everyone ... that just gave me an idea, what if the s...
