What Nox meant was that, while you are cloaked, the enemy's weapons don't charge while your's do, thus delaying their attack even further.
To use a board game analogy, when you cloak, the enemy loses a turn (and visa versa).

I would love to see a quest appear after killing the crew of a slave ship (via boarding, not O2 depletion) with the option to return the slaves to their homes. One of the rewards could be a slave asking to join your crew upon successful return.
