Re: Yea just broke the game - Stalemate

In terms of stalemates, we plan to have the enemy ship just jump away after a time (just to prevent game-breaking situations like being out of fuel). In the OP's case, shouldn't it be Game Over? I mean, look at all those rebel ships in the background. "Reinforces arrive. You are *beep*. End of...

Re: Tips and Strategies

Based on my experience... Autofire is good when using weapons with same times or against weak enemies. Otherwise, it seems better to wait for the desired weapons to go green and then fire them at the same time (quite important for taking down some strong shields using different types of lasers). Rem...

Re: Easy vs Normal Difficulty?

It's true that normal won't appeal to everyone. But i guess you could say that slightly masochistic players are our target audience, lol. They may be your target audience but it's nice to have added an Easy setting. It's a nice touch that opens the game to new players while not "dumbing down&q...

Re: Easy vs Normal Difficulty?

Having more toys to play with can be certainly more fun to a point. Normal's fun is more about beating the odds and manage to get a kick ass ship despite the scrap limits. I haven't been able to reach the last sector in Normal yet but I find it equally fun. Meanwhile in Easy, lately I reach the last...

Re: saving in FTL

if the majority fail to vote, then they obviously don't care either way, or trust the people who do give a crap to choose well; if they've been offered to vote, they can't complain about the result if they don't. either way, the highest voted solution wins. If the majority fail to vote its an indic...

Re: Too much Random?

I suppose I just came into this with the wrong expectations regarding skill and time commitment. ^this (easy is not easy by any stretch. please rename difficulties to 'very hard' and 'cruel'. no save on exit feature?) Easy is not as hard as you say. You get much more scrap and enemy generation is &...

Re: Luck/Skill Balance

Consider this post a SPOILER. I honestly don't think item drops and luck vs. skill are the problem. in 80% of my games, I've made it to part 2 of the boss. To me, the problem with the game is all the rules you have been playing by throughout the game are thrown out the window by the final sector and...

Re: saving in FTL

How bout time taken to implement unplanned saves will detract from the time that can be spent on additional content ? So do we ban any "unplanned suggestion" made here or in the other site too? Just in case they take time from that "additional content"? Or do we let the devs dec...

Re: saving in FTL

I don't see any reason for saving. It takes time to implement, and is easily exploitable. To save, you need to save it to a file. It doesn't matter if it only happens on exit, and is deleted on start, you could still copy the file. Later, you could start a new game, quit and replace the useless sav...

Re: saving in FTL

On a side not I should point out: Save anbd quit can also be abused and this may be the reason they dont wish to include save and quit features... I tought of that and altough it's a respectable opinion, I consider it a bit silly (and I don't think that's actually the case unless the devs want to p...
