Artillery questions in CE

Adding purchasable artillery in CE seems awesome, but I did encounter a problem. I had not added artillery to a ship ( I think ) and yet the option became available from a store. Ahh I see. Thank you for informing me in detail what can and cannot be done. It's a pity we can't change the colours per-race. Oh well.

These shields are really nice.

I would like to see different colours / textures for the different races.

Mantis with Yellow hexagons.
Voltar with Aqua/green bubbles

Etc

For both the player and enemy ships.

I'd like to see such changes in CE, and i'd be willing to help put the work in.

I'm having the same problem, i want to replace all the player ships as part of a re-balance patch.
We should work together! Maybe some of your ships are worth adding?

This is a heavy handed way of dealing with the mathematics of the game, and requires excessive modification of way too many files, creating too much work.
