Icehawk is right - it looks like that firing weapons while cloaked will run down your timer faster. I haven't tried it with beam weapons yet though.

I haven't really tested it, but I think it might be possible that weapons that are targetted on the enemy ship before you engage stealth don't drop you out of stealth. I haven't gotten a stealth augment recently. If I do, I'll update this.

The location of the exterior blast doors on the stealth ship in particular makes it very susceptible to fires. I'd suggest that if the conflict isn't resolvable, the AI jumps out. In the Rebel Fleet situation like yours, a fresh ship should jump in too

Changed the thread title to more accurately reflect content. As I see it, weapons that don't bypass shields must either be able to deplete them or have another weapon deplete the shields for them. What is everyone favoring in terms of armament? I'm finding myself to be biased very heavily towards burst laser weapons. Simply put, in FTL there's no substitute for quantity. I think I've seen external doors on a couple of NPC ships. Lord knows the end boss could have used some venting.
