Re: How to make doors a worth-while subsystem to attack

That would make the game too hard. All doors opening would compound to many problems like fire, no air, as well as boarding parties. Perhaps if there was a small SUPER rare chance of this happening I would be fine with that. It would give a reason to treat the door subsystem as an important subsyst...

Achievements are kind of a no-brainer these days. Even if they're small things, I expect some to show up. Even Legend of Grimrock has them.

Re: Steam Achievements (PC version)

Just.. alternate methods of dealing with things is the kind of achievements that get me interested. Gentle nudges to try something "not normal".

Re: How to make doors a worth-while subsystem to attack

Perhaps internal doors should actually open by default if the subsystem is destroyed instead, giving free access.

Perhaps a better route would be to make evasion significantly high for X seconds after cloak comes off?

Re: When is the beta coming?

Well, as long as I see activity from the developers, I'm happy. The beta will come when it comes with what seems to be an actual beta test cycle.

We'll get the game when they're ready to release it.

I prefer the idea that you can't remotely control them instead. It isn't like there aren't emergency overrides or releases built in.

Re: First suggestion: Achievements that unlock parts of the

I'm not quite sure I like that idea. It can feel pretty cheap or frustrating if a particular resource never shows up in your game and you find out it's because you didn't play a specific way. I'd rather keep achievements as a little doodad to keep track of some ideas on how to alter play more than j...

Re: Events which test the player morally

I have to ask, was your suggestion influenced by EvE Online's Butterfly Effect promo?

As far as the idea, sure that's an idea, though my time through the prototype/alpha build had shown some neutral vessels that were ripe for "a plunderin'" if that was your preference.

Re: When is the beta coming?

I would rather have my first experience with the game be clean and bug-free. If the game is unstable, it might deter me from playing it further, even if they fix it down the road. First impressions and all that. Sounds like you probably shouldn't be beta testing then. The whole point of beta testin...
